Kester Asia Pacific headquarters is based in Singapore and we are now seeking to fill the following newly created position:
R&D Chemist
(Singapore – Chai Chee)
Responsibilities:
-
Research and develop new improved solder products/related products (Solder paste, Chemical Fluxes and Core wire) for electronics assembly industries
-
Obtain new raw materials for evaluation and understand the physical and regulatory data on the new material for Code qualification
-
Accountable for the new develop product from conceptualization à manufacturabilityà commercialization,
-
Bridge the gap between R&D and the field by development of reflective process test methodology for the new formulation.

Work closely with the Sales and Technical Team to proactively support customer in both development and technical issues

Support and troubleshoot product quality issues
-
Keep abreast of PCBA industry development and changes
Requirements:
-
PhD, MSc or Bachelor Degree with relevant experience in the field of Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical/Material Engineering or related discipline
-
3 to 5 years’ commercial R&D experience, preferably from the PCBA industry

Chemical Fluxes development knowledge would have an advantage
-
Process engineering exposure or knowledge is highly desirable
-
Working knowledge of metallurgy & chemistry, including organic or industry chemist and experience with statistical tools, DOE or manufacturing improvement processes such as Six Sigma

Self-motivated, internally driven individual with a passion to deliver innovative solutions

A team player who is able to contribute to a collaborative research and teaming environment

Good communication and presentation skills

Fluent in spoken and written English
